Hi, I’m James!
About Me
Since being convinced by my teacher not to give up on Biology after AS-Level, I have since gone on to pass my A-Level Biology, an undergraduate degree in Biology and a Doctorate in Medical Sciences.
Currently I work in the biotechnology sector developing and engineering antibody therapeutics for the treatment of different cancers, but my love of science communication has led to me continuing to provide extra biology tuition to those in need of it.
Throughout these degrees and my later experiences working in the biotechnology industry, I have learnt to communicate scientific principles at all levels of education in a simple, yet effective manner to help increase understanding of biology.
My Approach
Biology can often feel like a maze of complex terminology and overwhelming concepts, which is why I strive to explain things clearly and concisely to break down those seemingly insurmountable biological phenomena into easy-to-understand, digestible pieces.
Understanding and digesting the information behind biological concepts is one thing, but applying that knowledge to real-world scenarios and exam questions can sometimes be difficult and daunting.
During our sessions, I continuously strive to help apply new knowledge to real-life and interesting case studies and incorporate a range of past exam-based assessments from simple multiple-choice formats to longer essay-based questions to help you maximise your exam success.

Initial consultation
This is an opportunity to discuss your current position. What are your strengths? How do you like to learn? What subject areas do you need to work on? The answers to these questions will form the basis of a personalised tutoring programme, maximising your potential and success.
Remote learning setup & scheduling
All you need to start your tuition is access to a PC/laptop with either Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Skype.
You can schedule as many lessons as you deem necessary, at a time to suit you.
